Our Dance Foundation program offers kids a fun, non-stressful space to discover the joy of dance while building skills like coordination, creativity, and self-discipline. As a non-profit initiative, we keep class sizes small and fees affordable - without sacrificing high-quality instruction.

In order to receive the membership discount, you’ll need a 2024/2025 SSCA membership. Our membership year starts September 1st and ends August 31st of every year.
Ballet
Technically based training with a physiological focus. Builds coordination, balance, and core dance skills.
Jazz
Influenced by a fusion of hip hop and ballet principles. Typically upbeat, fast in tempo, and includes a variety of movement types.
Hip Hop
Street styles including popping, locking, breaking, and house.
Musical Theater
Fusion of dancing, singing, and acting. Storytelling and characterization are emphasized.
Lyrical/Contemporary
Takes fundamentals of other styles and gives the participant plenty of freedom in movement expression. Incorporates improvisation tasks and creative thinking. No experience required.
Cheer/Acro Dance
Combines elements of dance and acrobatics with cheerleading. Focuses on teamwork for stunts and showmanship. No experience required.
Dance Variety
Learn to create original choreography and to collaborate with others.
Dance Variety (18+) Dance Foundations Plus
Whether you are new to dance, an experienced dancer, or a past dancer looking to get back into dance, this 18+ class is a safe space for all adults (no matter the level or experience), to join a stress-free, low-cost community dance class. In this class, a variety of styles can be explored including styles like ballet, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, improv, and heels. The styles you wish to work on will be discussed with the instructor during the first class, and the curriculum will be adjusted accordingly, making this a tailored and personable class for all participants.

Shannon Dagg is a dancer, instructor, and choreographer from Victoria, British Columbia. She moved to Calgary, Alberta in 2020 in pursuit of her Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance and Pedagogy, of which she obtained with distinction in the Spring of 2024 from the University of Calgary. Shannon aims to become a recognized name in the dance community, and sees herself in many roles such as working onboard a cruise ship as an entertainer and teaching masterclasses. Shannon currently teaches and choreographs at multiple locations throughout the city and is very passionate about her work.
Prianka is a dancer and instructor from Calgary, Alberta, and a recent graduate from The Gateway Project at Pulse Studios. Prianka has years of experience in dance training in styles including hip hop, popping and house, as well as contemporary and bollywood. Recently Prianka has focused her training on Street Dance at a pre-professional level, working on concepts such as freestyling, battling, choreography, and educating others. She was a recipient of the 2022 Gold Bursary at the East Side Dance Festival for community contribution and commitment to the passion. Currently, Prianka is pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science degree at the University of Calgary in Psychology, and aims to graduate in the Spring of 2026. As a goal, Prianka hopes to build an image for herself in the street dance scene through battling and instructing.
Jillana is a singer, dancer, and early childhood educator from Saskatoon Saskatchewan. She has 10 years of ballet, jazz, and musical theatre training including a variety of studio classes, workshops, and touring company experience. As of 2024, Jillana has completed a Music diploma in Voice Performance from Grant MacEwan in Edmonton and an Early Childhood Education diploma from Saskatchewan Polytechnic. Currently, Jillana shares her passion for the arts and education at Silver Springs Dance Foundations and Unique Education Academy in Calgary.
Tatiana has been dancing since she was 4 and wants to share her passion with others. She is looking forward to inspiring younger kids so they can also find a love for dancing! Tatiana is very excited to be an assistant instructor this year!
