Program Info

Lane Swim (Click to register)

We will be offering lane swims this year in two 30-minute time slots Monday to Friday and one single lane that will be split for stationary deep-water aqua jogging and shallow water jogging.

*Swimmers are encouraged to bring their own equipment

Little Fishy Swim! (Click to register)

This year preschool swim lesson levels will not be offered in regular group settings. In its place we will be introducing Little Fishy Swim, scheduled from 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., Monday to Friday. In this allotted time, children 10 years and younger are invited to come with their parent/guardian to swim during a designated and supervised time. The goal of this is to provide the opportunity for young swimmers to work on skills that would typically be taught in group lessons. There will be tot docks placed in the shallow end and instructors will be roaming around on deck if you would like assistance or if you have any questions. Lifejackets will be available; however, we encourage you to bring your own. Please leave your big toys at home.

Red Cross Swim Lessons (Click to register)

Silver Springs Outdoor Pool is pleased to be offering the Red Cross Swim Lesson Program this summer! There will only be regular group lessons offered for Levels 6-8 and Levels 9-10, with a maximum of seven swimmers. To accommodate younger swimmers, small cohort lessons will be available in place of the typical Levels 1-5. These are designed for families that are in the same cohort/social bubble, with a maximum 4 children. Please note that a parent/guardian (over 16 years of age) is required to be in the water with the swimmer for the duration of the lesson. This is required because instructors will teach from the deck this year.

 Sessions will be 1-week long

  • Session 1: July 20 – July 24
  • Session 2: July 27 – July 31
  • Session 3: August 3 – August 7
  • Session 4: August 10 – August 14
  • Session 5: August 17 – August 21
  • Session 6: August 24 – August 28

Water fountains

Water fountains will be turned off. Please bring your own water bottle labelled with your name. All bottles left behind will be discarded.

Diving boards

Diving boards will be open at lifeguard discretion and dependent on pool capacity (less than 50 patrons) during the 4:30 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. time slots.

Newly updated pool rules and regulations

We are excited that our pool season is beginning soon. However, it will look a little different this year – please make note of the following changes to ensure everyone’s safety:

Silver Springs Outdoor Pool (SSOP) will have a reduced capacity to ensure physical distancing can be maintained. Our pool capacity is 80 patrons this summer. Please arrive 10 minutes before your time slot. Use the pool noodle markings on the fence to remain socially distanced and a staff member will check you in as quickly as possible.

Registration is required for adult lane swim and public swim. Admission tickets will be available starting at 8:00 a.m. each day and can be purchased here. You must complete and pay for your registration online in order to receive your spot. Your spot at the pool is determined by the time of your payment transaction. Unpaid registrations will not hold spots. There will be no refunds on Public Swim, Lane Swim and Little Fishy Swim.

  • Please read all signage throughout the facility, including the pool rules posted on deck.
  • Social distancing must be maintained at all times, including in the water. Please stay with those who you arrived with/those in your cohort. Follow the blue arrows for traffic flow and the circles to maintain 2m distance from other patrons.
  • We encourage patrons to wear masks on the pool deck, in washrooms or where social distancing is not easily maintained. Masks may not be worn in the water.
  • Arrive in your clean swimming attire. Change Rooms and lockers will be unavailable for changing and storage of personal belongings. Carry all your items with you to the appropriate umbrella on the grass. Please bring carabiners if you wish to hang up your bag on the fence. At the end of the allotted swim time, patrons must exit through the gate and shower/change at home.
  • The pre-swim shower is mandatory. Patrons will be required to enter Change Room A and exit through Change Room B, showering in an available shower in either changeroom. SSOP will be introducing all gender change rooms and bathrooms.
  • Public Swim times will be in 90-minute pre-booked blocks to ensure access for all who wish to swim. Schedule and online booking information will be available once opening day is confirmed.
  • Lane swim times are sectioned into 30-minute slots and only available during a specified time. There will be limited space in each lane and therefore lane swim must be pre-booked online.
  • Families are encouraged to bring their own PFDs. Some will be available to borrow upon request and must be disposed of in the USED bin so they can be sanitized.
  • Pool toys will not be provided this year.
  • Enhanced first aid and lifeguard rescue procedures will be in place.
  • Expect enhanced cleaning and sanitization protocols.
