Building Expansion | Comunity Update
By the SSCAWe're thrilled to announce that construction will begin on the long-awaited expansion of the Silver Springs Community Centre!
This project is a major milestone for our neighbourhood, and we are excited about the new opportunities, spaces and resources this will create for everyone who calls Silver Springs home.
We want to communicate some temporary changes to all residents and visitors of the SSCA:
Main access: The side balcony door entrance will be closed and inaccessible. Please use the main entrance doors to access the main level.
Accessible entrance: Our (new) accessible entrance will be temporarily relocated to the back kitchen door, which will be converted to a keyed entry. If you require accessible access, please use this back entrance once it's set up. You'll still be able to access and park in the back parking lot.
Outdoor rinks: Due to construction, the SSCA rinks will be closed this winter. The 2-inch water main will not be accessible and neither will the electricity for rink lighting. The equipment shed will be moved down to the lower lot.
Construction zone: Fencing will be installed around the east side of the building. This area of the yard will be off limits for the duration of construction.
You will still enter through our Common Room doors for our lower-level spaces.
We ask everyone to share these important updates with their families, neighbours, friends, and any groups you're involved with, so our whole community remains safe and informed.
We can't thank you enough for your ongoing support, understanding and cooperation as we work to make Silver Springs an even better place for everyone. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out to us directly.
