Construction Update

Silver Springs Boulevard N.W. Utility Work: June 20 -29

Crews have completed underground water utility work on the north side of Silver Springs Blvd. N.W., and they are on track to complete pathway paving along Silver Springs Blvd N.W. this week. Crews are also on track to complete asphalt pavement repairs for the newly rebuilt medians along Nose Hill Dr. N.W., as shown below.

Nose Hill Dr. N.W. – Rebuild Sidewalk and Driveways: July 4 – Late July

Starting July 4 next week, we plan to begin installation of a temporary pedestrian barrier on northbound Nose Hill Dr. N.W. between Scenic Acres Blvd. and Silver Springs Blvd. N.W. to provide a safe and accessible detour route for pedestrians to navigate this area along Nose Hill Dr. N.W. while sidewalks on the other side of the street are being reconstructed. This barrier and lane closure will remain in place for approximately 4 weeks until work is completed.

Starting July 6 next week, we plan to begin closures of the sidewalks and two driveways along Nose Hill Dr. N.W., beside Spring Hill Village, to allow construction crews to safely rebuild the driveways and install a new pathway in the area. The sidewalks and driveways are expected to remain closed for approximately 4 weeks until work is completed. There will be a right-hand lane closure on northbound Nose Hill Dr. N.W. between Scenic Acres Blvd. N.W. and Silver Springs Blvd. N.W. that will be set up approximately 7AM until 3PM daily.

Nose Hill Dr. N.W. – Rebuild Sidewalk and Driveways: Late July – August

We will be permanently closing the right-hand lanes on eastbound and westbound Silver Springs Boulevard N.W. to install new road markings, Canmore Curb wheeling lane barriers, and signage to support new on-street wheeling lanes and dedicated bus stop zones.

Construction is expected to be completed in August. Once completed, all temporary lane closure materials will be removed and then the new on-street protected wheeling lanes will be open to the public.

Traffic Calming Improvements – Traffic Calming Curb Installation – Late July – August

In late July, we plan to begin installation of new traffic calming curb extensions and Canmore Curbs throughout the community to complete traffic calming and safety improvements throughout Silver Springs.
